What is SetJetting (or Set-Jetting)?
“SetJetting” refers to the act of traveling to locations that have been featured in films, TV shows, and/or other forms of media. Also known as film tourism and screen tourism. SetJetting involves visiting your favorite filming locations specifically because they have been used as “sets” for film and television productions.
SetJetting has become a highly popular trend among tourists who are fans of particular films or TV series. People want to experience firsthand the real-life locations where their favorite scenes were filmed. It adds an additional layer of excitement and emotional connection to the media they love. Film and television producers often choose picturesque or iconic locations for their productions, and these places have now become tourist attractions in their own right.
Some examples of SetJetting destinations include the various locations used in the Star Wars franchise (Tunisia, Ireland, etc.), the Harry Potter series (London, Scotland, etc.), the Hobbiton movie set in New Zealand (from “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” trilogies), and the Amalfi Coast in Italy, featured in films like “The Talented Mr. Ripley.”
SetJetting is a fun and immersive way for fans to engage with their favorite films, TV shows, and games while exploring new and interesting places around the world.
